The term "fasteners" refers to screws, nuts, washers, bolts, etc. In order to determine their strength or other material properties, they must be subjected to specific tests. The tensile test is an important part of quality assurance. For example, the breaking load or the elongation under axial load is examined.
Hegewald & Peschke has the right test system in its program for various test applications in the fastener sector. Only recently, for example, a universal testing machine Inspekt table 250kN for testing EBF press-fit bolts was supplied to a German manufacturer of fastening technology such as punch nuts and punch bolts. Press-in studs are used as high-strength connecting elements in the field of fastening technology. They are used in particular in the automotive industry, but also in electrical/electronic equipment construction and in mechanical/plant engineering.
The testing machine is equipped with a round safety door. The test system includes a 250kN wedge clamping tool and clamping jaws as well as suitable connection specimen holders for shoulder and thread head specimens and specimen clamping plates for safe and standard-compliant clamping of the EBF press-in studs. With the connection specimen grips the short tensile specimens are clamped, which cannot be gripped directly with clamping jaws due to their size, geometry and condition.
The metal tensile tests are carried out in accordance with the DIN EN ISO 6892-1 standard.
