Universalprüfmaschine Inspekt 100kN zur Prüfung von Geotextilien

Kiwa TBU GmbH has acquired an Inspekt 100 kN universal testing machine from Hegewald & Peschke for its Greven site. The testing machine includes a second lateral test chamber with 30 kN test load, which is equipped with a load cell and a video extensometer. In this way, changeover times and thus costs can be reduced. The customer continued to use the tools such as hydraulic clamping tools and a CBR punch pressure tester from his old testing machine.

Kiwa GmbH in Greven is one of the world's 20 leading providers for testing, inspection and certification. Mainly geosynthetics, geotextiles and geotextile-related products are tested, such as big bags or silicones such as waterproofing membranes for roofs. The test specimens are torn to pieces. Another proven test method for the description of foils and related materials is the tear test. For this purpose, the sample is provided with an incision from which the further tearing process starts. The tear resistance is determined during the test.

Creep tests are also planned for the future, including 24-hour creep tests or 100-hour creep tests. With this special material testing method, a constant tensile force acts on the test specimen at a slightly increased constant temperature over a longer period of time. The aim is to find out whether a particular material behaves differently at elevated temperatures under prolonged exposure than at normal room temperature.
