Hettich Holding GmbH & Co. oHG has recently purchased a testing machine for
hardware tests on hinges and folding mechanisms from Hegewald & Peschke MPT GmbH. Hettich Co., located in the town of Kirchlengern in Eastern Westphalia, is one of the worldwide leading manufacturers for furniture hardware.
The test bench will be used to perform endurance tests resembling wear tests, and the friction moment of the joints is determined. Several pieces of hardware can be clamped and tested side by side at the same time.
The test bench delivered includes a servomotor-operated swivel unit which is mounted horizontally over a base plate and can be vertically adjusted by means of an electric motor. To facilitate mounting and aligning the test specimens, the enclosure features two doors contacting each other at the corner without support at the corner. The size of the testing machine allows testing hinges while installed, e.g. as head rest of an armchair.
The machine is protected on all sides by a guard fence. The protective device is mounted directly to the machine frame allowing the testing machine to be transported as a whole.
