In the past month, Hegewald & Peschke MPT GmbH has delivered an upgraded testing machine to the material testing office of the Technische Universität München. The hydraulic testing machine with a testing force up to 150 kN was originally produced by Walter + Bai Co.
The testing machine was equipped with a new controller as well as Labmaster software. Switching between two force measuring ranges was no longer necessary since the controller features a very high resolution. This allows the customer measuring with class 0.5 accuracy even with smaller forces using the 150 kN load cell. The controller features an analogue output for the force signal for coupling to other testing devices.
The existing hydraulic unit was retained during the upgrade. An existing extensometer could also be integrated in the new controller. The potentiometric path measuring system, however, was replaced by a high-resolution and high-linearity incremental system.
The upgraded machine shall be used for various tensile, compression and flexure tests in the fields of education and research. The state material testing office for mechanical engineering (MPA) of the TU München is affiliated with the chair for materials science of the faculty for machinery. Hegewald & Peschke MPT GmbH is a specialist for the modernisation of Universal Testing Machines.
